Wi-Fi
Android and Apple. The profile defines network connection parameters; the availability of a specific security type depends on the device.
All parameters
| Parameter | Purpose and values | Verification and dependencies |
|---|---|---|
| Wifi network name | SSID — the exact network name, up to 32 characters in the current form. | Check that the case and spaces match the access point. |
| Encryption type | WPA2, WPA3, WPA, WEP, None or Any. None denotes an open network; Any is the general option of the form. | The type must match the network and be supported by the client. WEP/WPA are legacy options; use them only for an agreed network. |
| Password | Shown for all types except None; the form limits input to 32 characters. | Do not apply this form limit to the Wi-Fi standard: a network with a longer password requires confirming interface support. |
| Connect automatically | Enabling it sets automatic connection to the available network of the profile. | Check that the connection is made when the network appears, without manual selection. |
| Hidden network | Indicates that the SSID is not broadcast openly. | Check the connection to an actually hidden SSID; this is not network protection by itself. |
Limitations and dependencies
The profile does not change the access point password. First verify the new network, then restrict the user’s access to Wi-Fi settings.
Creation and assignment
Create a configuration, fill in the parameters and run the preliminary check. After saving, assign recipients. Start with one test device.
Verifying application
In the device card, check the assignment and the latest contact. In client events, find the processing result, then check the feature itself on the device. If the feature has not changed, check the management channel, platform, delivery and compatibility.
