Prepare a device in kiosk mode
Goal: Only the approved work functions and applications are available on the device.
Before you begin
Check the compatibility of the channel, mode, and device; prepare a way for the administrator to exit and to recover access.
Procedure
- Create a kiosk profile.
- Prepare the allowed applications.
- Assign the kiosk to a test device.
- Check the device state.
Expected result
The work application starts, unnecessary actions are restricted, and the permitted administrator exit has been verified.
If the result differs
If the kiosk does not start, check the application installation and the management mode. Do not roll the profile out to the whole fleet before the exit has been verified.
Changes and rollback
Confirm the recipients before changing an assignment. Test the new value on a test device first. Do not treat removing an assignment as an automatically confirmed rollback of all local settings: check the final state of the device and the application.
